How about this for a first post?

Well, Ry's second birthday has come and gone and I can't think of a better way to kick off this blog. I can't believe it was over two years ago that she first brought so much joy to our family and it just keeps getting better.

The last month has been full of changes for us Mettings... first, I quit work (WAHOO!!!) It was officially time for me to be a stay-at-home momma. And can I say, why didn't I do this earlier!? It has been so much fun so far, and here I was worried that I'd be bored. HA! That's hysterical. I've been busier than ever but loving every.single.moment.

Here's a quick rundown of the first month:

Week 1: Off to Buckeye! Ryann and I spent a whole week relaxing at the "resort", living the good life. We watched Papa play lots of "pickeyball" and softball, caught a couple Giant's Spring Training games with Auntie Lo & Auntie Brina, and I got my workout on a couple days. Oh yeah babe.

Week 2:
More jet-setting. This time to Sacramento to see dear friends and family. We had dinner with Jenny & Katrina and their fantastic men & kiddos, went to Fairytale Town, and celebrated cousin Dougie's birthday and engagement to Lisa (who is lovely, btw). Ry acted like she sees Pant Pam everyday and hammed it up at dinner. No shocker there. Dougie thought she was "perfect" and I can't disagree!

We missed Daddy a lot but he got to spend some much needed boy time with Rob & Bobby, who flew out from NJ for a snowboarding/ski trip. Rob had a sinus infection and Bobby got altitude sickness, but they hammered through 2 great powder days at Winter Park & Vail and got hit on by a few cougars along the way. :)

We also celebrated Nona's bday when she and Grandpa Dale returned home from Florida. Happy Birthday Nona!

Week 3: Operation: Kitchen Redesign. (This was a massive project so I'll post about that later). Also, I got to go snowboarding with Enna. We had the best day of sunshine & it only took an hour and 15 minutes to get home. That's got to be a world record, or maybe Enna just has a lead foot.

Billy closed the books on another outstanding year at Hitachi. He sealed a major deal for his client BATS Trading in the UK, which pushed him well above his number. (Go Billy! Go Billy! Go!) And yes, I made him put his conference calls on speaker phone so I could hear the English accents. Cheerio!

Week 4: Mimi & Papa's turn to travel. We had a lot of b-days to celebrate and I needed reinforcements on Operation: Kitchen Redesign (getting excited for the unveiling yet?). Ryann loved the hockey game we took Mimi to on her birthday and Ry was spoiled with love and gifts at her birthday party.

That about sums it up to-date. I'll post more about the b-day party later since pictures are a must.

So welcome aboard and thanks for following us! Please keep your hands and arms inside the ride until we come to a complete stop. Fermene sin sintado, por favor.
